Last week I came across what appeared to be a SMP 2254.50 on the common Seamaster Professional multi-link bracelet, advertised by an auction house as an "Omega Seamaster Ref. 168 1640, Calibre 1120" that caught my eye. I linked the liveauctioneers site for anyone who may want to see the listing and photos. The final decision came down to a Submariner or the Seamaster 2254.50. I went with the Omega. The process kindled an interest in finer watches and I began searching for my "grail." Watches were studied, examined, a few bought and sold but nothing could quite measure up to the Omega. The first picture shows an extremely faded Omega logo on the caseback, serial number and a strange arrow on the bracelet itself which I haven't seen on any other 2254.50 currently listed for sale. Any advice is much appreciated. I have a Speedmaster, but the Seamaster co-axials just have never appealed to me - too chunky. So I just am not sure about different SMP variations. The more I think about it though the movement really shows it's not a franken, but fake.

I still think it's a fake. The spring bar insert area is rounded instead of flat. The lume on bezel is off. The crown guard is totally wrong. The serial number is fishy.
