You will need to open up the watch, decase it, remove the hands, remove the dial, glue the DWO on, adjust it and do all of the above backwards . I think slightly off center is within the range of tolerance- but this looks like (based on the angle) some of the bottom of the date is covered. What is probably more problematic is that your comment seems to suggest it’s inconsistent, sometimes centered and sometimes not. When I’ve seen slightly off centered it always stays exactly that way.
